Louis Letterle: President/CEO
Lou is the owner and founder of Letterle & Associates. As President and CEO, Lou ensures that the resources needed to complete each project are available and dedicated. He achieves this by setting corporate priorities and committing experienced scientists and engineers to achieve those priorities. He is also responsible for providing the necessary funding to finance each project in order to eliminate delays and inconvenience to the client. Prior to forming Letterle & Associates in 1998, Lou worked for several other environmental consulting firms in western Pennsylvania, with responsibilities ranging from client and regulatory contact to budget management and deliverables. Lou holds a Bachelor's degree in Geology from Slippery Rock University and has completed some graduate work in Environmental Management at Duquesne University.

 

Timothy J. Kier: Director of Operations/Sr. Project Manager/Office Manager - Franklin Office
Timothy has over 23 years of professional experience in the environmental consulting industry. Prior to joining Letterle in 2003, he was a Staff Specialist II at ENSR International, Inc. in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, and his duties included soil and groundwater sampling, surface water sampling, free product recovery, Oxygen Releasing Compound injections, and interaction with regulatory agencies. As a Project and Office Manager at Letterle, Timothy is responsible for day-to-day activities of the office in Franklin, Pennsylvania. Those responsibilities include attending to personnel matters, administrative oversight, and ensuring that projects continue to progress through characterization, corrective action, and ultimately, through regulatory closure. Timothy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Susquehanna University and has maintained his OSHA 40 hour training certification.

Project Management

Kenneth W. Dudash, PE: Senior Project Engineer
Mr. Dudash has over 21 years of professional experience in the environmental consulting and remediation services industry. Prior to joining Letterle in 1998, Mr. Dudash was a remediation engineer for multiple national environmental consulting firms where he designed and supervised the installation of remediation systems throughout the Midwest and the northeast states, primarily in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and West Virginia. Mr. Dudash provides a level of sophisticated high-level technical support to the Letterle project management team in areas such as environmental remediation system design, permitting, implementation, operation, evaluation, and site closure. As a Senior Project Engineer at Letterle, Mr. Dudash is responsible for the design and installation of remediation systems using a variety of technologies including multi-phase extraction, bioremediation, chemical oxidation and air sparging. Mr. Dudash develops procedures to be used for remedial pilot tests, prepares remedial pilot test reports, engineering design and specification packages, and remedial action plans. His daily activities also include the supervision and mentoring of technical staff within the Letterle Engineering Department and coordination with clients, environmental regulators, third-party consultants, property owners and other independent parties and subcontractors during the remediation phase of an environmental project. Mr. Dudash also prepares construction, NPDES/sanitary discharge, and air quality operating permits for remediation projects and completes SPCC/PPC for multiple clients in various states. Mr. Dudash earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from West Virginia University, is a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Pennsylvania, and maintains the OSHA 40 hour training and supervisor certification.

 

Jed Hill: Project Manager/Office Manager - Bellefonte
Jed started his career with Chambers Environmental Group in 2002. He has experience as an Environmental Technician in which he was an integral member of Chambers' highly-acknowledged field staff. Jed brings remediation systems installation, operation, and maintenance experience to the project management sector of environmental work. He is an experienced Geoprobe® operator and has consummated many subsurface site characterization projects. Jed currently administers various environmental projects. He is effective in managing diverse site characterization study and remedial activities. Jed completed two years of study at the Pennsylvania College of Technology under the Environmental Technology major where he gained hands-on, technical experience in environmental compliance, air-water pollution control treatment, and soil-water resource management. Jed has also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Resource Management from the Pennsylvania State University and completed his internship with Avery Dennison Performance Polymers, where he successfully updated and improved the facility's source reduction strategies and emergency response plans. Jed's certifications, training, and affiliations include OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour certification, Aquifer Test Analysis using AQTESOLV, and the Groundwater Pollution and Hydrology Course - Princeton Groundwater, Inc.

Eric Itle, PG: Sr. Project Manager/Office Manager
Eric holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geology from Slippery Rock University and is a Registered Professional Geologist in Pennsylvania. Eric’s professional career started at Paul C. Rizzo Associates, Inc in 2000, where he monitored drilling of borings into soils and rock formations for the Saluda Dam remediation and construction project in Columbia, South Carolina. Eric conducted pump tests in various strata to determine dewatering methods, monitored drilling operations, worked with contractors during inspection/oversight of dam construction, and mapped various igneous and metamorphic rock formations. In 2004, Eric was hired as a geologist with The Hutchinson Group, Ltd. in Murrysville, PA. He supervised the installation of boreholes and monitoring wells, conducted gas-probe monitoring, surface water, and groundwater sampling at multiple Mid-Atlantic region solid and hazardous waste sites. He assisted with a full range of geophysical surveys, including electromagnetic surveys, resistivity surveys, ground-penetrating radar surveys, and landfill liner leak detections. Eric also gained international experience performing a landfill leak detection at Laogang Landfill in Shanghai, China. Since joining Letterle in 2006, Eric has gained a working knowledge of the Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia underground storage tank regulations, the Pennsylvania Act 2 Land Recycling and Remediation Standards Act, as well as various types of both state and local regulatory permits, and is skilled at interpreting field data. Eric is primarily responsible for communicating with PADEP, clients, and PAUSTIF from claim inception through closure, coordinating and supervising field activities, aquifer characterization studies, monitor well installation and development, underground storage tank closures, interpreting field data, and reviewing site reports and correspondence. Mr. Itle also writes and reviews Remedial Action Progress Reports, Site Characterization Reports, Remedial Action Plans, and Remedial Action Completion Reports. Eric is OSHA HAZWOPER certified.
